Finish your WIP KAL

Here’s a challenge for you!

Over the past few months, I’ve had plenty of time to think things through. I have thought about how to improve my patterns, and better plan my design releases and workshops. I’ve also thought a lot about how sad it is to see knitters buying my patterns and abandoning the projects halfway through. A sweater without sleeves, a sock without a pair, a cardigan without buttonholes… these WIPs are breaking my heart.

You see, I firmly believe that no one starts casting on stitches for a new project without enthusiasm. One always begins a new knitting project with high expectations! But the sad truth is that more often than not, projects get started and never finished. Our WIPs linger in the dark (and back) of our closets for many reasons and many of them are perfectly alright with me! But, I can’t help but wonder if we really abandon our WIPS because of a conscious decision or simply because something new grabs our attention.

“When you abandon a project, you also abandon the possibility of turning the excitement of the first day into a triumph.”

Many of us have turned to knitting and sewing as a rejection of consumerism and fast fashion. It is rather contradictory that we approach our knitting with such an avid thirst for newness, isn’t it?

That's why I've decided that the next few weeks, I'm going to help you finish a project (of mine). Yes. If you have a garment or accessory designed by me on your needles dozing in a drawer, take it out. Finish it with me. I will help you. Let's do a KAL! A different Kal.

Did you get stuck with the instructions? Let me help you finish this project.

Don't you like how it looks on you? Let me help you finish this project

Did you make a mistake and were too lazy to undo it? Let me help you finish this project
